![]() The service was excellent, the server was very friendly and attentive, and the price was certainly well below what The Brass Lantern had on their menu. We ended up going to Vegas Restaurant and Bar, where we ordered from their very extensive menu and enjoyed a delicious meal. ![]() Perhaps she was helping out in the kitchen. At 6:55, we decided that a 25-minute wait to be totally ignored was a bit much, My son-in-law got up to tell the hostess we were leaving, but that was a wasted effort, because she never came back to the front of the restaurant. No one approached our table to tell us someone would be right with us. The hostess also apparently had disappeared. We were going to order a bottle of wine to begin the meal, but we couldn't even do that. It should have been obvious that we had not ordered, because the menus were still on the table. There were servers at tables around us, but no one approached our table. That was the last time anyone approached our table, with the exception of the "water lady," who made one more fill-up. The hostess seated us at a table near the partition in the front (where the cold air from the open doorway was less than comfortable), left menus on the table, and a young lady filled our water glasses. We arrived at 6:30 for our appointed reservation time. My choice of restaurants was The Brass Lantern. My daughter and son-in-law drove up here from Florida to take me to dinner on October 4, 2014, for my 80th birthday. I've been coming to this area for many years to vacation and will definitely be returning to the Brass Lantern on each and every visit. The great ambience the restaurant afforded us during our dining experience as well as the food and service was excellent. ![]() I ordered the ribeye and must say the food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The special was Surf and Turf and my friend loves lobster tails and they even allowed her to alter the special to two lobster tails and she tried Escargot for the first time. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the chef went above and beyond to please us. It turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've had in the Crossville area. When I first read all the reviews I was quite hesitant at first in visiting the Brass Lantern due to some recent negative posts, however, being the type person I am I decided to check it out for myself. My friend and I were vacationing at Wyndham Fairfield Glade and was seeking a place for her to celebrate her 38th wedding anniversary (first anniversary away from her husband and she still wanted to celebrate it in a special way as they always do together).
